It starts off noisy, ready to grab you and then fades off to a somberness which turns into a low-smoldering anger readying to erupt. Well that’s how I hear the first three minutes of Lars Lundhave Hansen’s Catching Fire (con-v). Hansen is one of the two brothers who makes up Wäldchengarten, an ambient/noise/drone group out of Denmark. Catching Fire is full of melodic noise and drones that seemingly emit cynicism. It is not the musical wish that got away, it is simply this, and even more so, it is not that.
